KITCHEN PARTY 2019 – a King’s Theatre Fundraiser!
Jul 20 @ 7:30 pm

KITCHEN PARTY 2019, an annual fundraiser for King’s Theatre, is happening on Saturday July 20 at 7:30pm. It’s a celebration of local talent hosted by singer-songwriter SUSAN CROWE. It’s a favourite summer event in Annapolis Royal that brings together an incredible roster of talent from the Annapolis region.

This year we will be paying tribute to the late local musician DUNCAN DRAPER.

This year’s line-up include these incredible local musicians:

David Chamberland, Paul O’Brien, Taren Yelle, Caleb Miles, Harvey Marcotte, Dan Froese, George Sloan, Carole Allison, Bill MacDonald, Eva McCauley, Dillon Tonkin, Carolyn Buck, Gregg Mazel, James Stevenson, Chris Moreau, Dennis Jollimore, John Eakin, John Morland, Scott Henderson, Jacquelyn Martell, Ted Leighton, Alexa Jaffurs, Kevin Thompson and Harold Clapp.

Susan Crowe brings her rich voice, wicked sense of humour, and generous heart to the role of host. This year’s event will be a special celebration of the legacy of the late local musician Duncan Draper, with whom all of the musicians have played.

The night begins with a New Orleans-style street parade in Duncan’s honour starting at the Fort Anne at 6:00pm and making its way down St George to the Theatre. The concert on the stage gets rolling at 7:30pm. It’s sure to be an unforgettable night

*Duncan Draper was trained as a jazz piano player at the Berklee College of Music in California. He was a consummate musician, equally comfortable playing jazz, samba, rock, traditional Irish and Scottish music, folk and bluegrass on a wide variety of instruments. He was always inspiring, supportive and encouraging towards musicians and was there to contribute his musical talents when asked and/or needed, whether it was a musical fundraiser, performance or a session. He is greatly missed in Annapolis Royal and beyond.

ANGRY BIRDS 2
Aug 30 @ 7:00 pm

The Angry Birds are back!

This time, these enemies become frenemies to take on a mysterious eagle (Leslie Jones) that is threatening both Bird and Pig Islands. The only way to stop her – assemble a bird/pig super-team. If there was any other way, they would have found it. Can they put aside their differences long enough to save the day – or even for just two seconds? It’s anyone’s guess at this point, but this unsteady alliance promises to be an awkward one to say the least.

Catch The Angry Birds Movie 2 at King’s Theatre when Red (Jason Sudeikis), Chuck (Josh Gad), Bomb (Danny McBride), and Mighty Eagle (Peter Dinklage) recruit Chuck’s sister Silver (Rachel Bloom) and team up with pigs Leonard (Bill Hader), his assistant Courtney (Awkwafina), and techpig Garry (Sterling K. Brown) to save their homes!
