The Angry Birds are back!
This time, these enemies become frenemies to take on a mysterious eagle (Leslie Jones) that is threatening both Bird and Pig Islands. The only way to stop her – assemble a bird/pig super-team. If there was any other way, they would have found it. Can they put aside their differences long enough to save the day – or even for just two seconds? It’s anyone’s guess at this point, but this unsteady alliance promises to be an awkward one to say the least.

JP CORMIER: At the age of 5, JP began teaching himself to play the guitar. At 9, he won his first guitar competition against 30 other players 4 times his age. By his mid teens, he was playing a variety of stringed instruments, including the fiddle, mandolin and banjo. He recorded his first album of bluegrass instrumentals at 16, which led to 10 years of living and performing in the US. His time there included many memorable nights at the Grand Ole Opry with artists such as Waylon Jennings, Marty Stuart, Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe, Charlie Louvin and Vince Gill.
Since returning to Canada, JP has released over a dozen award-winning albums. His impressive body of work has earned him a loyal fan base and multiple award nominations and wins. He continues to dazzle and delight audiences while performing 250 shows a year.

Synopsis

Maiden is the story of how Tracy Edwards, a 24-year-old cook in charter boats, became the skipper of the first ever all-female crew to enter the Whitbread Round the World in 1989. Tracy’s inspirational dream was opposed on all sides: her male competitors thought an all-women crew would never make it, the chauvinistic yachting press took bets on her failure, and potential sponsors rejected her, fearing they would die at sea and generate bad publicity. But Tracy refused to give up: she remortgaged her home and bought a secondhand boat, putting everything on the line to ensure the team made it to the start line. Although blessed with tremendous self-belief Tracy was also beset by crippling doubts and was only able to make it through with the support of her remarkable crew. With their help she went on to shock the sport world and prove that women are very much the equal of men.

When the creative juices are flowing, there’s no holding back the talented quartet that makes up the Celtic supergroup Còig: Fiddler Chrissy Crowley, multi-instrumentalist Darren McMullen, piano player Jason Roach and Rachel Davis on fiddle, viola, vocals.
Còig’s music is a unique combination of influences that could only come from these four players. It’s traditional for sure, but it’s performed in a lot of non-traditional ways. “We all come from sort of a traditional background, but then we have different influences that we’re interested in,” explains fiddler and singer Rachel Davis. “Jason has a jazz degree, and listens to a lot of different music. Chrissy likes to dive into a lot of world music, Darren comes from a kind of Irish theme from playing around. More of the traditional Cape Breton music is really what I love, plus all the folk songs, so it’s an interesting mix.”
That leads to the other magic ingredient in Còig. It’s a band of fast friends, people that grew up together, played together, and knew each other way before they ever considered being in a band together. The best in trad music, in a non-traditional way. That’s Còig.

Rings Through Water is new creation that uses ethereal choral singing, contemporary and traditional Indigenous dance, along with powerful text and theatrical presentation, to tell three short stories about water.
It’s a collaboration between five artists – three Indigenous and two Settlers. Their desire to overcome their own embodied prejudices, privilege, and pain is central to their artistic process and to the beautiful narratives of this show.
Depending on its form, water has the capacity to amplify sound, distort it, or mute it; how do we do the same as we navigate our relationship with this precious resource and one another? Together they speak for water, lift up the voices of its protectors, and amplify the voices of the missing and murdered Indigenous women who have met their end in it. They also offer a reconciliation-based model for Indigenous and Settler collaboration.
