Auditions for the Annapolis District Drama Group Spring 2020 production of “The Ladykillers” will be held at Kings Theatre on Wednesday 18th December at 6.30pm.

Directed by Simon Bonnington, the play is to be performed at King’s Theatre – performances will be Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March 2020. Rehearsals are scheduled to be Saturday morning 10am and Wednesday evenings, commencing in the first week of January.

Professor Marcus and his gang of dastardly (but inept) ne’er-do-wells are planning a security van heist. They select for their hide-out the upstairs bedroom of an eccentric but sweet little old lady. As a cover for their criminal plotting, the gang masquerade as an amateur string quintet using the room for rehearsal space.The elderly widow discovers their subterfuge – and the gang realise that she must be silenced. But none of them are prepared to do the deed…

This is a superb and hilarious stage adaptation of the classic Ealing Studios ‘dark comedy’ crime film (1955), which starred Alec Guiness, Herbert Lom and Peter Sellers

It’s the Third Annual Benefit Concert for the Annapolis Food Bank with Paul O’Brien with members of his musical his family and other special musical guests.

Marvel’s Black Panther is a cultural phenomenon, a historic box office success that’s brought in rave reviews and sparked conversation all over social media and traditional media alike. There are no signs of the excitement abating, either, as the conversation about the film has evolved from discussions about the importance of representation into something grander: a rather groundbreaking celebration of black culture.

All told, Black Panther’s greatest legacy may not be what it’s done for Marvel, Hollywood, or box office records, but what it’s done for the culture. FODAR moves performances outside for the first time with Market Dances!

Dancers will perform a collection of solos and duets – five works in all – choreographed especially for the Festival.

Admission is free-of-charge, but donations are encouraged. Reservations are required and can be booked at King’s Theatre.

Home to the only summer contemporary dance festival in Nova Scotia, Festival of Dance Annapolis Royal – FODAR is ranked as one of the major dance festivals in the country. Back for its Sixth Season, the festival showcases the best and the current in contemporary dance performed by some of this country’s most celebrated dancers. Each season FODAR also remounts a landmark production from Canada’s rich modern dance legacy. This year, the festival runs from August 19th through 22nd.
