Explosive Latin/rumba flamenco guitar with a rock edge.
Think Santana, only faster.
Latin/rock guitar virtuoso and composer Roland Grant (formerly Roland Smith) is excited to bring his explosive brand of world music to the world. Hailing from Hants County, his music reflects his passion for genre-bending Latin-infused melodies tinged with rock and classical influences. His shows feature a mix of instrumentals and guest vocals that rock the house and leave audiences wowed.
Roland’s fingers effortlessly slide up and down the guitar, creating a fast-paced rhythm that makes the listener want to get up and dance.
Roland’s debut album Equilibrium (2018) is best described as “nuevo flamenco meets Steve Vai meets John Williams”. As an orchestral composer, Roland’s Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra premiered in 2019 with the composer as soloist. Other premieres include works for symphony orchestra, chamber music, and accompaniments to ballet and film. Roland was awarded the prize for Best Tonal Music at the 2017 International Antonín Dvořák Composition Competition held in Prague, Czech Republic, of which he has been a two-time finalist.
Roland is officially endorsed by Godin Guitars, a Canadian company that serves such artists as Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd), Myles Goodwyn (of April Wine) and Steve Stevens (of Billy Idol).

Miriam Orlando & Meggie Pozzolo in Graceland
The Annapolis District Drama Group (ADDG) is very excited to unveil six Stage-to-Screen short plays
Developed in conjunction with King’s Theatre, the six Ten Minute plays were carefully selected to allow rehearsal and performance while observing appropriate physical-distancing. Performed on-location at venues in and around town, including a local church, Fort Anne Cafe, Sissiboo Coffee shop, the Annapolis Royal Wharf, and the King’s stage, they were filmed and edited by professionally-experienced cinematographers and cutting room crew. With this project, ADDG has taken community theatre to a new level in Annapolis Royal, despite the current limitations brought by the Covid pandemic!
The plays originate from the pens of award-winning playwrights – as local as Granville Beach, to western Canada, the US, and as far-flung as Australia. The writers themselves have expressed an equal excitement to see their work translated into this new medium, and give their wholehearted blessing to the project!

Abigail Bonnington and Gordon Keel in The Pool of Cerebus
Each play was created with six very experienced local directors and casts that include many of the Drama Group’s finest actors — including outstanding youth actors. It’s a mix of comedy, pathos & intrigue all in good measure. They will make you laugh, make you cry and make you think; and best of all, they will entertain you.
All six ADDG-to-Screens will be shown each night. A Q&A with selected members of the team, hosted by Simon Bonnington, will follow.
Reserved seating. Come out and see your favourite actors on the Big Screen at King’s and support your local Theatre.

Jeremy Herrin (NT Live: This House, People, Places & Things) directs a cast including Jenna Coleman (Victoria), and Colin Morgan (Merlin).

Written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Killing Eve) and directed by Vicky Jones, Fleabag is a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life.
The hilarious, award-winning, one-woman show that inspired the BBC’s hit TV series Fleabag, was captured live on stage from London’s West End in 2019.
Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose.
Presented by DryWrite, Soho Theatre and Annapurna Theatre.

163 years later, the firm they establish – Lehman Brothers – spectacularly collapses into bankruptcy, and triggers the largest financial crisis in history.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL
A joint “stage to screen” production of the Annapolis District Drama Group and Young Company Productions, filmed on location in Annapolis Royal. Directed by Simon Bonnington.
Following the widely-acclaimed success this summer of their first ever Stage-to-Screen production, the Annapolis District Drama Group is joining forces with Young Company Productions to create a family-favourite Christimas-time spectacle that is certain to entertain: a screen-play version of “A Christmas Carol”, by Charles Dickens. – pandemic-willing, to be screened at King’s Theatre the weekend before Christmas!
With a cast numbering 55 this is probably the largest theatrical production ever in Annapolis Royal, and that in a time of constraint due to pandemic restrictions. However, this well-loved tale lends itself quite easily to performance in line with current Provincial guidelines. The screen-play is a newly-crafted adaptation by Simon Bonnington, straight from Dickens original text, with Covid very much in mind, and gives the opportunity for several small groups of actors to rehearse and perform the different scenes quite separately from each other.
Inspired by their recent experience of on-location filming, “A Christmas Carol” is being rehearsed and filmed in and around several of the historic buildings in our communities. The O’Dell House Museum & the Sinclair Inn Museum are being made available by the kind cooperation of the Annapolis Heritage Society; and likewise the Board of the Tupperville School Museum are enthusiastically welcoming, allowing the actors to immerse themselves in these genuine Victorian settings!
The Queen Anne Inn, the Carlisle House Inn, and the Historic Gardens, as well as other well-known buildings and establishments, are also playing host to the production.
Screenings are scheduled for December (Thursday 17th 7.00pm,) Friday 18th 7.00pm, Saturday 19th 7.00pm & Sunday 20th 2pm
