“Since releasing Wonderland (fall 2016) I have had the joy of visiting and singing with dozens of choirs across Canada and beyond. It all started in the fall of 2014 when I uploaded a video to YouTube singing a song I had just written called “The River”. Within months, choirs had started singing this song and I hadn’t even stepped into the studio yet!

- Adults: $30 (including HST)
- Youth: FREE!

Maria by Callas captures one of the great talents of the 20th century, combining beautifully restored archival footage with her own words. The Greek-American soprano rose to fame after World War II and became a star attraction in all the major opera houses. The film features interviews Callas gave during her lifetime, including a candid conversation with David Frost, her infamous performance cancellation in Rome and her falling out with the Metropolitan Opera leader Rudolf Bing. She expresses her regrets and shares her feelings about her long love affair with Aristotle Onassis that lasted after his marriage to Jackie Kennedy. Callas’s music is paramount in the film. We’re treated to her signature arias from the operas Norma, La Traviata, Carmen, and Tosca. As Callas told Frost, “If someone really tries to listen to me, he will find all myself there.”

British comedian James Mullinger has taken Canada by storm. Sold out shows across the country, appearances on CBC’s The Debaters, movies, TV shows, festivals, awards, magazines, stand up specials – since moving to Atlantic Canada four years ago he’s done it all.
James tours extensively to packed houses across Canada and England. A big budget movie had been made about his early years in stand up (starring actors from Twilight, Downton Abbey and Notting Hill and comedians such as Jimmy Carr, Gilbert Gottfried, Mike Ward and Pete Zedlacher). It was described by NME as the “funniest film of the year,” “unmissable” by GQ Magazine and “essential viewing. A funny, realistic look at what it takes to become a stand up comedian,” by the Montreal Times. Watch the trailer here.
James is one of the Canada’s biggest cheerleaders. He loves it here and spends his time promoting it across the world and raising money for charities and non-profits. James has raised more than $100,000 for Canadian charities. He has also become one of Canada’s top comics, being nominated for both a Just For Laughs comedy award and a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Live Show.

Neil Squared is a stunning 80 minute tribute to both Neil Young and Neil Diamond by award winning singer/songwriter Kenny Byrka.
Largely influenced by the sounds of the 70’s, award winning singer/songwriter Kenny Byrka has taken the works from two of his favourite artists who began their magnanimous careers during this era and developed a stunning 80 minute tribute to both Neil Young and Neil Diamond. The contrast between the two from a vocal and writing perspective is obvious, yet Kenny emulates both with precision, character and creative parameters, fuelled by his multi-instrumental abilities and diverse vocal range. Neil Squared is a collection of the classic songs from each artist, assembled for your enjoyment and to celebration the richness of words and music from two musical legends.

Anthropocene: The Human Epoch
A cinematic meditation on humanity’s massive reengineering of the planet, ANTHROPOCENE: The Human Epoch is a four years in the making feature documentary film from the multiple-award winning team of Jennifer Baichwal, Nicholas de Pencier and Edward Burtynsky. Third in a trilogy that includes Manufactured Landscapes (2006) and Watermark (2013), the film follows the research of an international body of scientists, the Anthropocene Working Group who, after nearly 10 years of research, are arguing that the Holocene Epoch gave way to the Anthropocene Epoch in the mid-twentieth century, because of profound and lasting human changes to the Earth. The filmmakers have traversed the globe using high end production values and state of the art camera techniques to document evidence and experience of human planetary domination. At the intersection of art and science, ANTHROPOCENE: The Human Epoch witnesses in an experiential and non-didactic sense a critical moment in geological history — bringing a provocative and unforgettable experience of our species’ breadth and impact.
“To say that there are no easy answers to planetary woes is to state the obvious. But the film seeks to reveal rather than lecture, in the hope that our eyes will convince our brains to act before it’s too late.”
