Performer, composer, activist, musicologist — these roles are all infused into his art and way of life. His music, too, transcends boundaries: unapologetically playful in its incorporation of classical influences, full of reverence for the traditional songs of his home, and teeming with the urgency of modern-day struggles of resistance.
A member of Tobique First Nation in New Brunswick, Jeremy first did music studies in Halifax before taking a chance to work in the archives at the Canadian Museum of History, painstakingly transcribing Wolastoq songs from 1907 wax cylinders. “Many of the songs I’d never heard before, because our musical tradition on the East Coast was suppressed by the Canadian Government’s Indian Act.” Jeremy heard ancestral voices singing forgotten songs and stories that had been taken from the Wolastoqiyik generations ago.

Kate (Emilia Clarke) harumphs around London, a bundle of bad decisions accompanied by the jangle of bells on her shoes, another irritating consequence from her job as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop. Tom (Henry Golding) seems too good to be true when he walks into her life and starts to see through so many of Kate’s barriers. As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two. But sometimes, you gotta let the snow fall where it may, you gotta listen to your heart… and you gotta have faith.

Auditions for the Annapolis District Drama Group Spring 2020 production of “The Ladykillers” will be held at Kings Theatre on Wednesday 18th December at 6.30pm.
Directed by Simon Bonnington, the play is to be performed at King’s Theatre – performances will be Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March 2020. Rehearsals are scheduled to be Saturday morning 10am and Wednesday evenings, commencing in the first week of January.
Professor Marcus and his gang of dastardly (but inept) ne’er-do-wells are planning a security van heist. They select for their hide-out the upstairs bedroom of an eccentric but sweet little old lady. As a cover for their criminal plotting, the gang masquerade as an amateur string quintet using the room for rehearsal space. The elderly widow discovers their subterfuge – and the gang realise that she must be silenced. But none of them are prepared to do the deed…
This is a superb and hilarious stage adaptation of the classic Ealing Studios ‘dark comedy’ crime film (1955), which starred Alec Guiness, Herbert Lom and Peter Sellers
The Olivier Award winning production of Shakespear’s The Winter’s Tale starring Kenneth Branagh and Judi Dench returns for an encore presentation.
The critically acclaimed production was the first in the hugely successful Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company Live season, which was broadcast to cinemas from London’s Garrick Theatre over the course of a year in 2015. Due to phenomenal demand, the production returns to cinemas this festive season.
The tragicomedy of obsession and redemption is beautifully reimagined in a production co-directed by Rob Ashford and Branagh with a remarkable cast, featuring Dench as Paulina, alongside Tom Bateman (Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile), Jessie Buckley (star of breakout British film Wild Rose), Hadley Fraser, Miranda Raison and Branagh as Leontes.
King Leontes appears to have everything: power, wealth, a loving family and friends. But sexual jealousy sets in motion a chain of events with tragic consequences…
“I am delighted our production of The Winter’s Tale is to return to cinemas around the world this December. We worked hard to bring the immediacy and excitement of the live stage production into cinemas, using film techniques to make these broadcasts appropriately cinematic, without compromising the theatrical experience. The Winter’s Tale was seen by over 250,000 people around the world the first time around, and we look forward to welcoming back people who saw it previously and as well as new audiences to this most magical Shakespeare play”
