WORKSHOP with DINUK WIJERATNE TRIO

Workshop for Musicians

On Saturday October 30 at 10am, King’s Theatre is hosting a workshop/conversation for musicians and advanced students. People may bring instruments for an interactive component . The workshop is about music that explores freedom and limits – balancing composition and improvisation. The workshop is free but space is limited to please call the Box Office to reserve your spot.

Brilliant pianist and composer DINUK WIJERATNE returns to King’s Theatre on Friday October 29 with percussionist Nick Halley and bassist Tom Easley for a gorgeous night of jazz.

Dinuk Wijeratne is an award-winning composer, conductor, and pianist. His boundary-crossing work sees him equally at home in collaborations with symphony orchestras, string quartets, tabla players, and DJs – and has taken him to international venues as poles apart as the Berlin Philharmonie and the North Sea Jazz Festival. The Sri Lankan-born Canadian pianist is joined by jazz drummer and world percussionist Nick Halley and seasoned bassist Tom Easley for this thrilling concert of original compositions.

Presented in partnership with DEBUT ATLANTIC.

Workshop is FREE. Pre-registration required.

Contact the Box Office: boxoffice@kingstheatre.ca or 902-532-7704.
