A) FRONT OF HOUSE (FOH) & ADMINISTRATION MANAGEMENT

King’s Theatre is looking to hire two part-time positions. The successful candidates are people who thrive in an ever-changing environment. They are flexible, creative, and love working with people. They are passionate about the arts and community. They bring organizational excellence, project management experience, marketing and communication savvy, and high computer literacy. The working hours average 20 per week but will vary depending on many factors; there is room for growth.

Duties include:

  • Front of House (FOH) Management, ensuring the smooth running of events
  • Scheduling, supervision and training of student staff and volunteers
  • Patron and artist care
  • Use of online ticketing system and Box Office support
  • Cash-related duties and Inventory management
  • Marketing and administration to support programming, fundraising, and a wide range of activities

Required skills:

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal communications skills
  • Excellent organisational, supervisory, mentoring and training skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability within a change environment
  • Proven ability to stay focussed and calm under pressure
  • Financial literacy
  • Advanced computer literacy with ability to adapt to a variety of systems
  • Strong marketing and administration skills

 

B) PROJECTIONIST (1 Part-time Job)

King’s Theatre is looking to hire a part time Projectionist. The Projectionist is responsible for the overall functioning of technical operations during movies and other events that require projection. The successful candidate has strong technical skills, computer savvy, and outstanding attention to detail. They are willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends. The working hours will vary depending on many factors. Estimated 10-20 hours a week. Training will be provided.

Required skills:

  • Relevant technical knowledge of and experience with digital projection equipment and/or ability to be trained.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity in the use of digital/technical equipment to produce high quality audience experiences.
  • Attention to detail and timely set-up for all incoming films.

 

C) SOUND & LIGHT TECHNICIAN (1 Part-time Job)

The Sound and Lighting Technician is responsible for the overall functioning of technical operations during live performances and presentations at the theatre. The Sound and Lighting Technician works with senior staff in the performance of his or her duties. He or she interacts extensively with artists and their representatives during the course of his or her duties.

Required skills

  • Relevant technical knowledge of sound and lighting equipment and experience in operating them.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. It is essential to communicate as a team member to other members of the Tech staff as well as with the House Managers.
  • Creativity in the use of technical equipment to produce high quality audience experiences.
  • Knowledge and training in proper and safe equipment use. Knowledge and training in personal safety when using technical equipment as well as general safety in the Theatre.
