Event Details

Join us for two Mi’kmaw films, a conversation, and some traditional drumsongs as we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day.

Hosts: shalan joudry, Rose Meuse, Cedar Waterman-Meuse, and Stephanie Joline.

FILMS:

  • Words Matter: Mi’kmaw poet and activist Rebecca Thomas is profiled in her journey to reclaim Mi’kmaw language. A Film by Stephanie Joline, who will be present. The film will be presented in English with Mi’kmaw subtitles. (22 min.)
  • We Story The Land: A film by Martha Stiegman & Sherry Pictou about a project connecting people in L’sitkuk with their Land and culture. (27 min.)
